Role Overview
CyberSmithSECURE is looking for a Digital Marketing & Sales Intern to support our go-to-market efforts for cybersecurity services such as VAPT (Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing), SOC-as-a-Service, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, and Compliance Advisory (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
This is a hands-on, mentorship-driven role for someone curious about how cybersecurity firms build trust and generate pipeline with security-conscious buyers — CISOs, IT Heads, CTOs, and Compliance Officers. The intern will support both digital marketing (security-focused content and campaigns) and B2B sales (outreach, proposals, and CRM) under the guidance of senior marketing, sales, and pre-sales team members.
The role supports outreach across cybersecurity-heavy verticals including BFSI, healthcare, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, and government, where data protection, compliance, and threat readiness are key buying triggers.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Content & Digital Marketing Support
- Assist in creating security-focused content such as threat intelligence blog drafts, vulnerability advisories, whitepapers, and VAPT/SOC case studies, under editorial guidance.
- Support LinkedIn and Google campaigns targeting CISOs, IT Heads, CTOs, and Compliance Officers.
- Help translate technical security topics (e.g., ransomware trends, OWASP Top 10, zero-day vulnerabilities) into simple, business-friendly content for non-technical audiences.
- Support SEO efforts for service pages covering VAPT, SOC-as-a-Service, Cloud Security, and Compliance Advisory.
- Assist with coordination of cybersecurity webinars, virtual summits, and industry conference presence (e.g., data privacy day, security awareness month campaigns).
- Help track basic campaign metrics (traffic, MQLs, engagement) for security-service campaigns.
Brand & Thought Leadership Support (Cybersecurity Positioning)
- Support upkeep of the firm's LinkedIn and website presence to reinforce its positioning as a credible cybersecurity partner.
- Assist in gathering client outcomes (e.g., vulnerabilities remediated, compliance certifications achieved) and formatting them into case studies.
- Help highlight the firm's certifications, compliance expertise, and security credentials consistently across marketing materials.
Cybersecurity Sales & Business Development Support
- Assist in identifying and researching prospects with security, compliance, or risk-management needs across BFSI, healthcare, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, and government.
- Support outbound outreach (LinkedIn, email) to IT and security decision-makers under supervision of senior sales team members.
- Help prepare proposals, sales decks, and draft responses for security-related RFPs/RFQs and government tenders.
- Update and maintain CRM records (Salesforce / HubSpot / Zoho) with lead data, deal stages, and activity logs for the security services pipeline.
- Shadow discovery calls and solution presentations to learn how VAPT, SOC, Cloud Security, and Compliance Advisory offerings are positioned to clients.
Pre-Sales Exposure & Domain Learning
- Collaborate with pre-sales engineers to understand how cybersecurity solutions are scoped and presented (VAPT, SOC-as-a-Service, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, Compliance Advisory).
- Build foundational understanding of core security concepts: SIEM, endpoint security, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), and major compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Participate in internal training sessions and knowledge-shares led by security consultants and delivery teams.
- Take on small, defined projects (e.g., a compliance-themed content piece, a target-account research list) with increasing ownership as domain knowledge builds.
- Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred Skills
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity, data privacy, or information security — prior coursework, certifications, or self-study is a plus (not mandatory).
- Good written and verbal communication skills; comfort simplifying technical topics for a business audience.
- Basic familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools (Canva, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, etc.).
- Interest in B2B sales, CRM tools, or the IT/technology services space.
- Willingness to learn technical security concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office / Google Workspace.
- Good to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Beginner-level awareness of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., through a certificate course, capture-the-flag exposure, or academic project).
- Familiarity with terms like VAPT, SOC, phishing, malware, or compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
Education
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
What You'll Gain
- Practical, first-hand exposure to how a cybersecurity firm markets and sells complex technical services (VAPT, SOC, Cloud Security, Compliance).
- Working knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts and compliance frameworks relevant to BFSI, healthcare, IT, and government sectors.
- Mentorship from marketing, sales, and pre-sales security professionals.
- Hands-on experience with CRM, marketing automation, and campaign reporting tools in a B2B security-services context.
- A certificate of internship and potential Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) based on performance.
Why Join Us
- Rare opportunity for a fresher to build both marketing/sales skills and cybersecurity domain knowledge simultaneously.
- Real, hands-on experience in a high-growth cybersecurity firm — not just observation.
- Exposure to enterprise and government clients across BFSI, healthcare, IT, and government sectors.
- Learning & development support through mentoring, security training sessions, and on-the-job exposure.
- Collaborative, mission-driven culture with flexible work arrangements.
